LSAT practice test #1

I am sitting here with an LSAT practice test in front of my (first one) and I can't bring myself to turn off Netflix and start it. I've researched and downloaded a timer, looked up watches to buy because of suggestions to practice with the same watch I will wear to the test. I've folded laundry, played candy crush, and texted an old friend. I don't know if I am nervous to see my first score or to actually break into full-time LSAT study but I have been putting this off for way too long. Here goes nothing!!

Matthew's Giant Minky Strip Quilt

I wanted to make matching minky strip quilts for my husband (Baker) and the baby but Baker wanted a rather large blanket. These quilts are generally 60" (the width of most minky fabric) by 70" with one set of strips, going one direction. This project turned out to be about 85" square. Instead of simply making each strip longer to just make it a larger version of the regular quilt, I thought it would be fun to have four quadrants turned horizontally and vertically. To do this, I essentially made four quilts and stitched them together, covering the raw edges of the back with gray minky to make a border. This quilt is so very, VERY far from perfect, and if I did it again I could do it much better. However, I will never make this quilt again. It is a one of a kind, Cheri Baker original! My husband loves it and thinks it is perfect so that is all that I care about.
That said, I am going to make a matching quilt for our baby but it will be a much smaller quilt, and I will not have to piece four quilts together. I am going to have one piece for the back and much less fabric I have to work with. The strip of cute baby boy animal minky in the bottom right corner is to match what will be on the back of Baby Bailey's quilt.

First Post!

This week I am 33 weeks pregnant, 7 weeks left to go! I cannot wait to meet my baby boy.
Also this week, I am going to be making a minky strip quilt for a friend who is expecting a baby girl, working on perfecting a cloth diaper (if my fabric ever gets here!).
